Donations - How can you support Samsara’s work?

Make an individual donation

Donations
The most effective way to help is through financial support. Samsara does not receive any grants, loans or financial support from a government. Samsara relies solely on the support of people such as you.
Individual donations guarantee the steady stream of funds necessary for its  work. Some individuals support Samsara’s work without conditions; others want their donations earmarked, for instance for a specific scholarship or for a new facility at a specific school. Samsara has also received donations from family foundations and legacies.

Instead of presents
Do you celebrate an important birthday, a milestone in your marriage? Are you going to organize a housewarming party, a family thanksgiving or a Christmas party? Think about asking for contributions for a Samsara project instead of receiving presents.

We welcome each gift. If you wish to support our work, you can click on “What are the costs” for more detailed information.

Donations from donors from the USA may be tax deductible. For more information contact the chairperson of the Samsara Foundation

Be a volunteer

To support Samsara’s work as a volunteer it is not necessary to come to Thailand. You can organize a fundraising event at the school of your children, in your neighborhood, at your service- or sports club for the good cause of Samsara.
If you come to Thailand you can be a volunteer in teaching English at one of the mountain schools or teach and organize art, games or sport events. But you need to realize, although we have a special room for you to stay at some schools, that the circumstances are difficult, the weather is not always great and not much English is spoken. But it will be a unique experience, maybe the experience of a lifetime. The hospitality of the teachers and children is amazing.
Although boarding and meals are free at the schools, to reduce the financial burden, we ask for a contribution of 8 to 15 dollars a day to compensate the school. Samsara will use this money for the scholarships for children from that school. The medical and travel insurances and transport costs are of course also yours to bear.

For information about specific projects and about becoming a volunteer at a mountain school please contact director Capital Projects of Samsara, Annelie Hendriks: annelie@loxinfo.co.th.

Support with your Service Club or Foundation

97% of the money donated goes directly to the Samsara projects. It is Samsara’s principle to work in close cooperation with the community. Samsara’s projects are realized within the given time schedule and within the stated budget. Applications for donations and the reporting are extensive, detailed and transparent. All these are important reasons why Service Clubs and Foundations raise funds for Samsara and continue their support year after year. We are very thankful for their generous support. In the area which Samsara covers are 185 poor mountains schools and Samsara cannot meet all their reasonable requests for their much-needed facilities. So we need your support even more. By realizing new school facilities more and more children are able to go to school, which shows that Samsara’s work has effect. Your donation can make a difference for hill tribe children.
